Fr. Robert Abbatiello, OFM, Cap

Father Bob became a member of the Capuchin community 25 years ago. He was a member of the parish team at St. Michael’s, East New York, 1988-1990, and after ordination in 1990 he continued to serve there until 1993. In 2002, he was appointed pastor of St. Pius X, Middletown, Conn. He also has served the community as vocation minister, guardian and director of Capuchin Youth and Families Ministry in Garrison, N.Y.

Fr. Philip Bohan, O.F.M, Cap

Fr. Phillip Bohan, O.F.M, Cap

Fr. Philip, a native New Yorker, was born in Upper Manhattan, the eldest of 10 children. Before entering the Capuchins, he went to grade school at Sacred Heart, in the Highbridge section of the Bronx and graduated from St. Clement Pope, in South Ozone Park. In August 2009, Fr. Philip will celebrate 50 years as a Capuchin friar. Ordained to the priesthood in 1967, Fr. Philip has served in a number of Capuchin parishes in the New York City area, and his been a pastor in three of them. He has also served as a counselor for 22 years (1980-2002) for the Family Consultation Services and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. Before coming to Good Shepherd, Fr. Philip served the Central and South American communities in the Capuchin parish of St. Joseph the Worker in East Patchogue, on Long Island.

Fr. Arlen Harris, O.F.M, Cap

Fr. Arlen Harris, OFM, Cap

Fr. Arlen was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the State University of New York College at New Paltz in 1998. Before entering religious life with the Capuchin Franciscans, he was a reporter for The Tablet, the official newspaper of the Diocese of Brooklyn. He professed perpetual vows as a Capuchin Franciscan Friar on September 10, 2005 and was ordained as a priest on June 7, 2008 at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Yonkers, NY. After six years of religious and seminary formation in Boston, the Church of the Good Shepherd is his first assignment.
